Regional Working Group: Fiscal, Finance and Economical Aspects for SWM
Introduction
Countries vary in their ability to provide the necessary financial support to manage solid waste, and most cannot - for various economic and social reasons - force the people who generate the waste to handle all the expenses of managing it.
Some countries were able to provide the needed finances for all the stages, as well as issuing legislature to recover the expenses from waste management organizations or from municipalities.
Due to the importance of sharing the successful applications in member countries, the discussion of success stories in working groups will help other countries benefit from these solutions and provide the needed financing using the principle of recovery of expenses.
